Homeschool Preschool - Christmas

Cutting Practice

I drew dotted lines in various shapes for Sweet E to cut along.

She also used a circle punch, to add ornaments to her tree, and buttons on her gingerbread man.

Super cute!

 Invisible Numbers

This is a quick, fun activity. I drew numbers on each gingerbread man with a white crayon. As Sweet E painted over them, she revealed the numbers and read them aloud.

Christmas Dot-to-Dot

Big sister Honey Pot has been doing some extreme dot-to-dots (the ones with over 1000 dots), so Sweet E wanted to try some of her own. These free printables are from TotSchooling.

Beginning Sounds Presents

Free printable also from TotSchooling.

Playdough

Our apple pie spice playdough was still good, so we used it to cut out some Christmas shapes.

Then we had plenty of free play, which included making cupcakes and singing happy birthday to her pal "Imaginary Emma."

We brought this bucket out often during Christmastime, and she eventually played with our playdoh mats too. Adding presents to Santa's sleigh, and building a gingerbread man.

Revealing Letters

We did a similar activity last spring, where we dropped paper towels into water, turning caterpillar pictures into butterflies. HappyTotShelf on Instagram had a fun idea using Christmas presents. Since I can't draw toys very well, we used this idea for identifying letters instead! I drew presents on the front of the paper towels.

And letters on the inside!

And when she dropped water onto the presents, the letters showed through.

I made her about five paper towels, three letters on each, and it was a fun little review!

Jingle Bell Maze

I made a little maze for Sweet E on cardboard, and she could use a magnetic wand to wind a jingle bell across.

She loved this so much, and asked for more. So I drew another path on the back.

Then she asked for more, so I drew multiple paths on both sides, in different colors.

Love the concentration!

Honey Pot and Little M&M played with it a bunch after school too!

Christmas Lights Painting

A quick painting activity, using q-tips!

Christmas Ornament Glue Craft

I had seen this idea on Busy Hands and Minds, but made my own in Photoshop. A great activity to practice using Elmers glue in moderation!

Learning Notebook

Stamping her name.

Sorting Rhymes

Free printable from Teachers Pay Teachers.

She has no trouble with rhymes anymore; she's come so far in her preschool learning!

Gingerbread Emotions

Free printable from Life Over C's. Sweet E rolled the die, and recreated that emotion with playdoh.

Love the little tongue.

Demonstrating an angry face for me. 😂

Fake Snow Sensory Bin

We do this activity every year. This stuff is so fun! I bought some instant snow powder from Amazon, filled a couple buckets with it, and added our Fisher Price Little People.

It felt cold, and just like snow!

She played for a while!

Honey Pot and Little M&M enjoy it still too. 😊 They loved squeezing it, and molding it!

We kept it out for a few days, and played with it so much!

Color Mixing

Sweet E drew her own triangle on the page, then mixed up some yellow and blue paint to make green.

And painted a lovely Christmas tree.

She used the circle punch and some scrap paper to make ornaments.

She used a stencil to draw a star, and cut it out herself! Then drew the stump at the bottom, and even the "bucket" that it goes in. Love how it came out!

Merry Christmas! See you for more fun learning activities in the new year!
