Books
No library visits these days due to covid-19, but here are the snow books from our own collection that we read. Sweet E's favorites were "There Was a Cold Lady..." and "Under My Hood I Have a Hat." We read these a lot!

Sorting Snowballs
Free printable from Life Over C's. I just wanted to give Sweet E extra practice with these lowercase letters that all look so similar.
Snowman Number Sense
Free printable from A Dab of Glue Will Do. I chose a few numbers in the teens for Sweet E to work on recognizing in different forms.
Learning Lowercase y
Free printable from Kindergarten Worksheets and Games.
Snowman Roll and Cover Game
Free printable from Teachers Pay Teachers.
Snowman Buttons
Free printable from Rainy Day Mum. First we used them to sort the buttons by color.
Then we used them to practice simple addition. Sweet E even wanted to write the sums herself.
Beaded Snowflakes
I twisted 3 half pipe cleaners together into a snowflake shape, and invited Sweet E to thread some beads onto it however she wanted. She loved this. Great fine motor work.
Here is the finished snowflake.
Later Little M&M joined us and made one too. Love how his came out! He's constantly creating mandalas out of pattern blocks too. Always so symmetrical, I love it!
Snowball Scavenger Hunt
Free printable from A Dab of Glue Will Do. I taped uppercase letter snowballs around the house, and Sweet E needed to search for them.
Then she would erase the matching lowercase letter from her list on our dry erase lapboard.
She loves scavenger hunts!
Salt Tray - Identifying and Writing Numbers
Free printable snowflake numbers from Teachers Pay Teachers.
Sequencing + Snowman Craft
This free printable from Sara J Creations shows the different steps of how to build a snowman. So first Sweet E glued the pictures in order.
And the printable also came with pieces to build your own!
She loved doing this! And hung it up proudly on our artwork wall.
Q-Tip "Snowman at Night" Painting
Color by Shape Snowflake
Printable from Supply Me.
This was a hard project, so she split it up over two days.
Learning Lowercase z
Free printable from Teachers Pay Teachers. And that completes our lowercase alphabet!
Playdoh Free Play
First Sweet E built a snowman using circle cookie cutters of various sizes. Look at that cute little face she made on it!
Then she moved onto rolling snakes, cutting with a knife, making cupcakes, etc. This is still our gingerbread playdoh from Christmas, and it smells amazing!
Snowflake Ice Excavation
I used our snowflake ice cube molds to make red and blue snowflakes, with gems frozen inside them.
Then I invited her to use the pipette with warm water, as well as some salt and tools, to help her excavate the gems.
As the ice melted, the water turned a dark purple.
The photos didn't capture it too well, but it was an obvious purple lol.
A few days later she was looking for an activity to keep her busy, so I pulled out some unused snowflakes and she did it all again!
She stayed at that bucket for almost an hour! Excavating the gems, using the pipette, pouring from the cup. Just having fun!
Learning Notebook - Tracing Circles
Snow Play
And of course, since it's winter, we got out in the snow this week to have some fun, and make a real snowman!
