Preschool: Dental Health

February is Dental Health Month! Sweet E did a few activities to learn a bit about our teeth, and how to keep them clean. We touched briefly on this during her Community Helpers theme. For that dentist activity, she rolled a number die, and then brushed the matching tooth.

Take a look at what she did today!

Fine Motor Color Sort

I saw this activity on Busy Hands and Minds, but there was no free printable, so I made my own in Photoshop Elements.

She loved this, and insisted I make the pom poms talk to one another, of course!

Nutrition Clip Cards
This free printable came from Fairy Poppins. Sweet E learned how to identify foods that are good and bad for our teeth/body, and that sugar is particularly bad for them, which is why we try to limit our intake.

Cleaning Teeth for the Tooth Fairy
I created this activity in Photoshop Elements, to help Sweet E match upper and lowercase letters. I covered up each tooth with a dollop of shaving cream (pretend toothpaste). Then Sweet E cleaned them one at a time, read the lowercase letter, and dotted the uppercase letter that matched!

We broke this up into three different pages, throughout the day. And she was so proud when she finished dotting the last letter!
