As the weather warms up, we're spending lots of time playing outside. But we did use the last two weeks to do some flower activities to celebrate springtime! Have a look!
Learning Notebook
Matching uppercase and lowercase letters with stamps!

Measuring Flowers
Free printable from Fairy Poppins. We used linking chains to measure!
Parts of a Flower
Free printable from Homegrown Hearts and Minds. Learning about the parts of a flower using playdoh!
Sweet E was able to point out each part of a flower after our lesson!
Picking Flowers + Craft
I saw this idea floating around, but cannot find the original source. I poked holes into a piece of a cereal box, and drew a vase. Sweet E loved picking dandelions to place into the vase.
We had talked about how a flower blooms, and she was able to point out which ones hadn't bloomed yet.
She enjoyed it so much, we did it again with a different flower that was plentiful in our yard.
They're just adorable.
Learning Notebook
More upper/lowercase matching. We had talked about what flowers need in order to grow, so I had her matching flowers to suns.
Blooming Flowers
We did this activity with Sweet E's older siblings during quarantine last year. I adapted it to include some learning. Inside each flower cutout, I wrote a large number. Then as each flower opened up in the water, she could read me the number she saw. (We used a bath tablet to turn the water blue.)
She loved watching them bloom!
I cut out some more flowers for her afterward, because she enjoyed it so much. I was sure to include different numbers.
And playing in the water is always a fun sensory activity!
Scissor Practice
Sorting Letters vs. Numbers
Flower Colors and Patterns
Free printable from Fairy Poppins. We used beads!
Fingerprint Flower Craft
This is an activity I did with Honey Pot and Little M&M years ago! Sweet E and I pull this book out from time to time. It's so cute! Today we focused on the flower page of course.
Size Order + Positional Words
More from Fairy Poppins. This time Sweet E glued the flowers in size order.
And then she followed directions as I told her to circle the "shortest," "tallest," "biggest," and "smallest."
Beginning Sounds
Free printable from Fun Learning for Kids. It had been a while since we did a beginning sounds activity. Sweet E did great. She flipped over a card, said the word, and told me what letter the word started with before stamping it.
Watercolors + Pipette Craft
Just a quick activity to keep Sweet E busy while I prepared the final flower activity.
I forgot to take a picture of it immediately after she was done. But here it is after the watercolors had seeped through the cotton pads a little lol.
Number Line Garden
I drew 30 flowers with empty centers, and wrote the numbers 1-30 on circle stickers. Then I placed a few random numbers into the number line, and invited Sweet E to fill in the rest.
She had a lot of fun with this!
It was a long activity! So she had to transform into one of the Paw Patrol pups (which she does a dozen times each day) because, "No job is too big, no pup is too small!"
She did a terrific job!
Happy Spring!
